3 Chelsea Players On Loan Who Deserve To Play In The First Team Next Season

Chelsea have been on an impressive run of form since Thomas Tuchel took over the helm of affairs from Frank Lampard. The Blues went on a 14-game unbeaten run before and it all seemed to be coming together for them until their recent 5-2 drubbing at the hands of relegation threatened West Bromwich Albion.

That defeat showed that Chelsea are not yet the finished product which their owner and fans want to see.

Roman Abrahimovic has spent a lot of money in an attempt to build a squad which will challenge for titles. Just this summer, the West London club spent more than £200 million on new players but they still seem to be lacking in some key areas.

However, Chelsea do not need to go on another spending spree to solve their problems when they have a loan army to pick players from. In this article, we profile 3 players who are capable of filling in the gaps in Tuchel’s squad and deserve to get a shot at first team football net season.

Ross Barkley

Age: 27 (born 5 December 1993)

Position: Midfielder

Loan Club: Aston Villa

Barkley has been one of the main men for Dean Smith’s side since he moved on loan from Stamford Bridge. The England international is one of the first names on the team sheet for the Villains and has his performances have been making Chelsea fans regret letting him leave even on a temporary basis.

He combines well in midfield with Aston Villa Captain Jack Grealish, dribbling and dazzling opponents and he is not afraid to shoot.

He has three goals and one assist to his name this season so far this season.

Malang Sarr

Age: 22 years (23 January 1999)

Position: Defender

Loan Club: Porto

Sarr joined Chelsea as a free agent in the summer and was immediately loaned out to Portuguese champions Porto. The Frenchman has been solid at the back both in the Portuguese league and the UEFA Champions League.

He has been used at Center Back and Left back and has impressed in both positions.

Tuchel’s 3-at-the-back system, Chelsea will surely be needing more center backs in their squad and Malang Sarr could prove to be the man they need.

Ethan Ampadu

Age: 20 years (14 September 2000)

Position: Defender/Defensive Midfielder

Loan Club: Sheffield United

After an indifferent loan spell at RB Leipzig last season, Ethan Ampadu was sent out on loan to Sheffield United for the whole of the season. The Welshman has established himself in their starting eleven since his move and has played 23 matches for Sheffield in the Premier League so far this season.

The 20-year-old is one of the most exciting talents that Chelsea possess and a lot is expected of the young man.

He can swap between Center Back and Defensive midfield; two positions which Chelsea desperately need to add players to. We expect Ampadu to make it into the Chelsea squad from next season.

What are your opinions about these three players, can they make it into the Chelsea starting lineup?
