Ejuke named the top dribbler in Europe’s top five leagues.

Nigerian winger Chidera Ejuke is gaining recognition in Europe, currently leading the rankings for the most successful dribbles in the continent’s top five leagues.

The 26-year-old has successfully completed 23 dribbles this season, surpassing Barcelona’s young star Lamine Yamal by one dribble.

Ejuke’s fellow Nigerian and Nantes forward, Moses Simon, ranks sixth with 20 successful dribbles in Ligue 1 after 507 minutes on the field. CONTINUE READING>>>

Toulouse’s Yann Gboho and Le Havre’s Antoine Joujou are tied with 15 dribbles each, although Joujou achieved this in only 298 minutes compared to Gboho’s 526. West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus holds the third spot with 22 dribbles, followed by Fulham’s Adama Traore.

Kylian Mbappé of France and Real Madrid sits fifth with 21 successful dribbles, while his teammate Vinicius Junior ranks seventh with 18 dribbles, behind Simon.

This marks the second time in September that Ejuke has been recognized as the top dribbler worldwide, highlighting his consistent performance since joining Sevilla in the summer.

His dribbling skills have been a vital aspect of his game since his breakout season at CSKA Moscow, where he was named the third-best dribbler globally by the CIES Football Observatory in November 2021.

He was also recognized as one of the most promising talents in the Dutch Eredivisie in 2019 for his ability to take on defenders.

After stints in the Netherlands, Russia, and Belgium, Ejuke made a free transfer to Sevilla this summer and is quickly making his mark in La Liga.

He scored the winning goal in the 85th minute during a 2-1 victory against Real Valladolid last Tuesday and played a part in the team’s 1-1 draw against Athletic Bilbao the following Sunday.

With eight caps for the Super Eagles, Ejuke represented Nigeria in the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, where he made two appearances before the team was eliminated in the round of 16 by Tunisia. He made his debut for the national team in a friendly against Tunisia on October 13, 2020.
