Nottingham Forest secured a dramatic 2-1 victory over Aston Villa at the City Ground, claiming three crucial points and breaking into the Premier League’s top four....CONTINUE READING>>>

The game was uneventful in the first half but came alive after the break. Villa’s Duran opened the scoring with a powerful header, following a brilliant save from Martinez to keep the match level earlier. However, Nottingham staged a late comeback fueled by tactical substitutions.

After having a goal disallowed by VAR for a tight offside, Forest equalized moments later and sealed the win in stoppage time when Elanga smashed home the decisive goal, sparking wild celebrations among the home fans. Forest’s xG of 1.65 highlighted their attacking intent, outclassing Villa’s 0.44. Villa boss Unai Emery faces tough questions as his side faded after taking the lead, with a daunting clash against Manchester City looming. Meanwhile, Forest will visit Brentford, who boast an excellent home record.

In another key fixture, Arsenal’s Premier League title ambitions took a hit as they were held to a 0-0 draw by a resilient Everton at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners dominated possession and created several opportunities, but Everton’s defense, led by an outstanding Jordan Pickford, stood firm. Both Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka came close, while Gabriel Martinelli’s attempts were also denied.

Everton’s Abdoulaye Doucoure had a rare chance for the visitors in the first half, but Arsenal maintained control throughout. Late appeals for a penalty after Mykolenko’s challenge on Partey were dismissed by the referee and VAR, leaving the Gunners frustrated.

The draw leaves Arsenal in third place behind Liverpool and Chelsea, while Everton remains in 15th as the league table tightens up ahead of the festive period.
