List of Chelsea’s 12 signings: 2024 Summer Transfer Window Closed

Chelsea FC has been highly active in the 2024–25 summer transfer window, making several exciting signings while bidding farewell to key players. Their focus has been on strengthening the squad and filling crucial positions.

The Blues’ unconventional and perplexing approach to the transfer market has sparked significant attention, dividing fans and leaving neutral observers baffled. At one point, Chelsea’s first-team roster swelled to over forty players, with nearly half of them training separately from Enzo Maresca’s main squad. Although they eventually streamlined the squad, their transfer strategy continues to be a topic of intense debate.

While it’s important to recognize that Chelsea has acquired a large number of good players, the aggressive stockpiling strategy as well as the treatment of some of the current squad members have garnered harsh criticism.

Whether Chelsea supporters agree with the club’s plan or not, it is evident that the team is devoted to selecting up-and-coming players from around the world and developing them into great players instead of opting for well-established stars.

This strategy has been clearly demonstrated this summer with the recruitment of multiple talented players under the age of twenty-one, including Marc Guiu (18), Estevao Willian (17), Omari Kellyman (18), Aaron Anselmino (19), Renato Veiga (20), and Caleb Wiley (19).

Tosin Adarabioyo left Fulham on a free transfer to bolster the defense with established Premier League experience. In a deal worth up to £35.4 million ($45 million), Dewsbury-Hall reunited with his former Leicester manager Enzo Maresca, and to strengthen the goalkeeping unit, Danish goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen was brought in from Villarreal.

Joao Felix re-signed for the Blues, this time on a permanent basis, and Pedro Neto also joined the team for £54 million ($69 million). Just as you were about to give up on them for the window, Jadon Sancho signed on loan on the deadline day, with an obligation to sign permanently the following summer.

There’s still no top No. 9 striker in the building after spending over £200 million and all the attention and activity surrounding Napoli’s Victor Osimhen throughout the summer.
