After United’s 2-1 win, Amorim explained that the decision wasn’t a disciplinary action but was based on dissatisfaction with their recent performances in training and games. While Rashford later expressed his desire to leave United next year, Garnacho has remained silent.

Amorim shared that Garnacho responded well in training on Monday, describing his attitude as “perfect.” He noted that Garnacho seemed upset about being dropped but saw it as a positive sign of the player’s determination. “He trained really well and seems a little upset with me, which is perfect. That’s how it should be. He’s ready for the next game.”

Rashford missed Monday’s training due to illness, but Amorim praised his efforts on matchday, stating the England forward had “trained really well.”

Amorim also addressed concerns about team news leaks. Reports emerged 20 hours before kickoff revealing United’s lineup against City, which included Rashford and Garnacho’s absence. While leaks have occurred sporadically over the years, the timing and significance of the derby made the issue more prominent.

However, Amorim dismissed the need for new measures to prevent leaks, emphasizing that his focus remains on preparing the team. “I’m not worried about leaks. What matters to me is ensuring my players are clear about our game plan. I can’t control the leaks, but I can control our preparation,” he stated.
