APC Blames Former Minister Rotimi Amaechi for Stirring Unrest

Amaechi caused controversy by criticizing Nigerian youth for not protesting against the rising cost of living.

In response, Felix Morka, the APC’s National Publicity Secretary, accused Amaechi of benefiting significantly from public funds over the years and being partially responsible for the country’s economic issues.

Morka also criticized Amaechi for allegedly attempting to incite unrest among the public, labeling him as a “political freeloader” whose criticism is ironic given his 24 years in various public offices.

The statement also questioned Amaechi’s complaints about financial struggles, particularly his claim of struggling to “buy diesel,” despite his many years of benefiting from public resources.

The APC argued that Amaechi, along with other opposition figures like Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, is only resentful because they are not currently in power, a decision made by the Nigerian electorate.

Additionally, the APC noted that Nigerians understand the temporary economic difficulties resulting from the government’s necessary reforms and will not be influenced by Amaechi’s calls for protests.

Morka ended by encouraging Nigerians to reject what he described as Amaechi’s appeal for chaos and to remain patient and supportive of President Bola Tinubu’s efforts to revitalize the economy for future generations.
