Speed Darlington’s Lawyer Warns Nigerians: “Stay Out of Trouble, Some People Will Put You in Your Place”

Stan Alieke, who serves as Speed Darlington’s lawyer, has advised Nigerians to steer clear of legal troubles.

In an Instagram post on Saturday, Alieke cautioned those who recklessly invite legal problems, thinking their lawyers will always come to their rescue. Continue Reading>>>

He shared that he has witnessed people lose everything while battling legal cases and warned that certain situations can be life-altering, humbling individuals permanently.

He wrote, “As your lawyer, I strongly advise you to avoid unnecessary conflicts; it’s simply not worth it. All the talk about ‘calling my lawyer’ is just bravado. Lawyers can only do their best, but ultimately, you face the consequences.”

Alieke added that some people act boldly because they haven’t encountered someone willing to engage in a prolonged legal battle. “Some conflicts can change your life forever. I’ve seen people lose everything in the process of fighting a court case,” he said.

This advice came after his client, Speed Darlington, was released on bail following five days in police custody in Abuja.

Darlington’s arrest was the result of a formal complaint by Burna Boy, accusing him of defamation and cyberstalking.

The situation began when Darlington criticized Burna Boy’s connection to US rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, who is currently facing serious allegations of sexual misconduct and human trafficking.

Darlington also questioned how Burna Boy won his Grammy for the album ‘Twice As Tall,’ which was executive produced by Diddy, implying there might have been inappropriate conduct involved.
