Senate President Akpabio Advises Nigerians to Take Advantage of Free Food Opportunities (Video)

This remark comes at a time when many Nigerians are facing economic challenges, partly due to policies implemented by President Bola Tinubu, including the removal of the fuel subsidy.

Recently, Nigeria’s state-owned oil company, NNPC Ltd, raised petrol prices by more than 15%, marking the second price increase in under a month, following the end of the fuel subsidy program. This has led to petrol being sold for over N1,000 per litre in various parts of the country.

This isn’t the first time Akpabio has made such remarks. At a conference for Niger Delta ethnic groups, youth, and women in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, in July, he made a similar comment, joking about Nigerians protesting economic difficulties. He remarked that while people protested, he and other members of the National Assembly would be enjoying their meals.
