Senator Lalong Pays Tribute at the Farewell of Richard Tallen, Son of Former Women Affairs Minister

Senator Simon Bako Lalong, representing Plateau South Senatorial District, joined other mourners in Shendam for the farewell of Richard Adamu Tallen, the late son of Dame Pauline Tallen, former Minister of Women Affairs, who recently passed away at the age of 42. Continue Reading>>>

The requiem Mass, held at Sacred Heart Catholic Cathedral in Shendam, drew numerous sympathizers from within and beyond Plateau State. During the service, Senator Lalong paid tribute to Richard, praising him as a promising individual who used his talents to serve his community, state, and nation. He acknowledged that while Richard’s life was cut short, his contributions would be fondly remembered.

The mass, led by Most Rev. Philip Dung, Catholic Bishop of Shendam Diocese, and other priests, emphasized the importance of remembering the transience of life and the inevitability of death, which leads to eternal judgment. Hon. Leo Dilkon, speaking on behalf of the Tallen family, described Richard as a multifaceted individual who, despite his imperfections, spread love, compassion, and joy to those around him. He expressed gratitude that Richard found peace with God before his passing.

HRH Miskoom Martin Shaldas III, Long Gamai of Gamailand, thanked those who attended to honor the late Richard, who was also a Prince of Gamailand. Richard’s final resting place was at the family burial ground in Shendam, where Senator Lalong and other family members gathered to pay their last respects.
