The commendation came during a meeting with NIPCO executives, including Mr. Ramesh Kasangra, held at the State House in Abuja.During the discussions, Tinubu acknowledged NIPCO’s vital contributions to Nigeria’s energy transition, particularly its support for the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGI).

He noted that NIPCO is a key player in promoting CNG as an alternative fuel, stating that such investments align with his administration’s strategies for energy security and economic diversification.The President praised NIPCO’s initiatives in advancing the “Switch to CNG” campaign, which has effectively raised public awareness and made affordable CNG conversion kits available even before the formal launch of the Presidential CNG Initiative.Continue Reading>>>

Tinubu emphasized the importance of this initiative in lessening the nation’s dependence on petrol and lowering fuel costs for consumers.“Motorists in Nigeria have the option to purchase petrol at ₦1,000 per litre or CNG at ₦200 per Standard Cubic Meter. We are also providing incentives for commercial drivers to convert from petrol to gas at no cost,” he stated.

He reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to creating a favorable environment for private sector investments and expanding Nigeria’s CNG infrastructure to promote energy efficiency and economic growth.Tinubu further encouraged NIPCO to continue its innovative strategies for expanding CNG while supporting the government’s wider objectives in the energy sector.
