Sanusi seaks on how to get things better in Nigeria

Leader of Tijjaniyya Movement in Nigeria and former Emir of Kano, Lamido Sanusi, has said that patience, fervent prayers and standing up to get things better in the country through legitimate ways are required in the country now.

He said this while addressing Tijjaniyya adherents from seven states of the North-West geopolitical zone on Tuesday in Sokoto.

“What is expected of us now is patience, fervent prayers and we must stand up to get things better in our own way through legitimate ways.

The former Kano emir also warned against insulting and cursing leaders over the hardship faced in the country.

He noted that rather than insults, Tijjaniyya members should be prayerful as he expressed confidence Nigeria will get better.

Sanusi also warned against disobedience to constituted authorities, noting that things should be done in accordance with the law.

“We must desist from abusing or cursing our leaders over hardship because the Holy Prophet discouraged that.

“We shall not involve ourselves in corrupt practices and other atrocities because our religion preaches against it.

“We must change for the better and remain committed to peace and development of our societies.”

He told members of the Islamic group to be politically active as the 2023 election approaches and urged them to ask for recognition in terms of school construction, health facility and other services.
