According to Vanguard, the team created offices around the state many months before the APC presidential primaries to mobilize support for Tinubu, but they ran into opposition from the state’s APC chairman. The head of the APC’s local organizing committee for the state’s election campaign took note of this.

Okocha, who is also a member of the APC’s PCC and Independent Campaign Council in the state, said that they had been improperly refused access to party revalidation as well as the electoral procedures.

Okocha, according to Vanguard, said that the APC was unable to win any elections in the state in 2015 or 2019 or to earn 25% of the popular vote for its presidential candidate.

He asserted,

“Despite our best individual and group efforts, we were unable to win 25% of the total votes cast for the presidential candidate of our party in the 2015 election.

With a super minister, a security apparatchik, and malleable election workers on our team in 2019, it was even worse because we were unable to secure the necessary 25% for our presidential candidate.

“But in 2023, APC Rivers defeated all odds and received more than 40% of the votes cast for our party’s presidential candidate.

It is notable and important to take note of Governor Wike of Rivers State’s involvement in backing the APC candidate by leveraging his enormous influence and “maverism,” since he is a major member of the G5 Governors (Integrity Group)……. Continue Reading
