The biggest opposition party in the state, the All Progressives Congress, and the Peoples Democratic Party, which is in power, have reportedly established an alliance, according to a story in the media. This was revealed in a statement on Thursday by the Oyo PDP Publicity Secretary, Akeem Olatunji.

“The PDP Oyo State desires to call the public’s attention to the news making the rounds that the PDP in Oyo State is supporting the All Progressives Congress candidate in the March 11, 2023 elections”, it stated.

We want to make it clear that there is absolutely no truth to this claim, as it was a filthy falsehood spread by the APC leadership in Oyo State, which had already conceded defeat prior to the March 11 governor’s poll. The Twitter handle @pdpvanguard, which is disseminating this false information, is a pro-APC social media influencer account with no connections to the official PDP at the state or national levels.

Thus, we urge all of our ardent fans and admirers of good government to cast their ballots for Seyi Makinde and other PDP candidates on Saturday, March 11, 2023. Continue the good deeds. In a related event, the Oyo State PDP branded as a terrible deception the assertion that over 190,000 of its members’ supporters have expressed support for Teslim Folarin, the APC candidate for governor in the state, in the election that would take place on March 11, 2023.

According to the report on Wednesday, followers of the PDP Vanguard platform posted a message on their official Twitter account, @pdpvanguard, expressing their support for Folarin. Every eligible voter in Oyo State must use their right to vote, the statement said. It is impossible to exaggerate how important this is because every vote counts and has the potential to have a big impact on the election’s outcome.
