Indigenous Nigerian rapper, Sodiq Abubakar Yussuf aka CDQ, recently shared a post on his official Instagram page shortly after an alleged encounter with operatives of the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

The rapper didn’t say much about his experience but he simply noted that there are individuals trying to set him up in Lagos. CDQ, however, added that God interceded on his behalf.

CDQ’s post generated mixed reactions in his comment section. An upcoming artiste identified as Wilmerafrica who claimed to have witnessed the singer’s exchange with the NDLEA operatives also recounted what allegedly happened.

Wilmerafrica in his narration claimed that the operatives stormed the rapper’s house for a search after getting tipped about CDQ’s possession of drugs.

He wrote:

“I witnessed it live. They stormed his house claiming right to search his place saying they are from NDLEA Lagos branch and that they were there to search for drugs based on the information they got.”

The artiste also claimed that after the rapper tried to ask for a search warrant and identification, one of the officers became physical.

“All he did was ask for warrant and ID cards but they were reluctant and there was this stubborn one among them who was talking aggressively to him and trying to force himself into the house but cdq refused the man got angry and pushed him bridging his privacy next thing we could hear was sound of slaps like really hot slaps and the same man was shouting at him to turn his phone off.. Omo e choke.”

When another fan asked Wilmerafrica if CDQ was slapped, he responded saying:

“I didn’t say he slapped him but I was hearing sounds of slaps it was chaotic you can’t tell who.”

“I can’t tell if a hand was played on him but one of the operatives pushed him to the ground in order to get access into his apartment. Immediately this happened all I could hear was sound slaps and aggressive shouts (clearly we know it’s not cdq slapping them)”

The artiste said CDQ also placed calls to friends to come to his rescue.

“I don’t know if someone came to intercede but cdq was trying to make a call to his friends cause I recall him saying he was home alone. I can’t give any information on when they evacuated or if they found anything because cdq was force to turn off his phone. We just hope he comes up with the rest of the story soon.

When asked if there’s a picture or recording of the incident, he said:

“No, I don’t have a video or a picture of it.”

Meanwhile,  previously reported that Nigerian talent manager Victoria Nkong shared her opinion on social media as it regards the disturbing trend of substance abuse in the entertainment industry.

Nkong cited DMX as an example while noting that it is usually hard to stop and it’s best for people to avoid intake. The manager also took a swipe at Naira Marley among other top stars who encourage the use of drugs.
