Addressing the LP’s prayers, the electoral umpire asked the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) to reject the prayers, which among others seek the declaration of Obi as winner of the February 25 poll.

INEC, the 1st respondent, stated this in the reply filed by its lawyer, Abubakar Mahmoud (SAN), at the PEPC’s Secretariat, in Abuja on April 10.

The commission prayed the court to either dismiss or strike out the petition for being grossly incompetent, abusive, vague, nebulous, generic, general, non-specific, ambiguous, equivocal, hypothetical and academic. Continue Reading…

Seven burnt to death on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway fatal accident

Seven passengers were on Sunday burnt to death in a fatal accident that occurred on Kara Bridge, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Those burnt to death included two children, while 14 other passengers were said to be injured in the fatal accident.

Spokesperson of the Ogun State command, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Florence Okpe said the lone crash involved a Mazda bus marked BDG993YG. Continue Reading…

APC’s Worst Mistake’ll Be Giving Sen Presidency To S/E Or S/S–Garba

A former presidential aspirant on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Adamu Garba, has said that the worst mistake the party would make is to zone the Senate Presidency of the 10th National Assembly to either the Southeast or South-South region of the country.

The APC chieftain warned that any attempt by the party – which has the majority in the National Assembly – not to give the Senate Presidency to the Northwest will definitely hurt the party as no external alliance will help it to keep its Northern stronghold.

He maintained that the APC may attempt to assuage the Southeast or the South-South with the Senate Presidency but that is more of an “emotional decision than political strategy”. Continue Reading…

Nigerians Have Right To Forgive Buhari Or Not – APC Chieftain

Abdulmajid Dan Bilki Kwamanda, A chieftain of All Progressive Congress (APC) and a close associate of President Muhammadu Buhari, has said that people have the right either to forgive President Muhammadu Buhari or not, especially over alleged maladministration they suffered during his eight years administration.

This was just as he warned the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, to jettison plans of wooing the National Leader and presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, back to APC, saying such moves is capable of destroying the party.

Speaking with pressmen in Kano, Kwamanda stated that “part of human weakness is to hurt others, whether deliberately or by mistake. Sometimes he (Buhari) is aware that he is hurting the feelings of the people and is acting deliberately, when it comes to the end of his tenure, he will then begin to seek forgiveness, just like what governor Ganduje did.” Continue Reading…
