INEC rigged the electoral results of two states in the Southern region – Yiaga Africa

According to a news that was published by the Daily Trust Newspaper online this morning, it was reported that the Yiaga Africa, has said that the results of Saturday’s presidential election from two states in the southern region, were manipulated because, they were inconsistent with their projections. It was reported that this was contained in its post-election statement that was titled, ‘The 2023 presidential elections are once again a missed opportunity: INEC must be fundamentally reformed’ which was jointly signed by Dr. Aisha Abdullahi and Samson Itodo.

The statement reads, “INEC manipulated the results of two states in the Southern region. The state-level presidential results for Imo and Rivers States are inconsistent with the Yiaga Africa WTV projections for both states. For Rivers, INEC announced 231,591 or 43.2% votes for the All Progressives Congress, 175,071 or 33.4 % votes for the Labour Party and 88,468 or 16.9% votes for the Peoples Democratic Party.”

The organization said this was in sharp contrast to the Yiaga Africa WTV estimates for Rivers which are APC 21.7% ±5%, for LP 50.8% ±10.6% and PDP 22.2% ±6.5%

For Imo State, INEC announced 66,406 votes for the APC or 14.2%, 360,495 votes for LP or 77.1% and 30,234 votes for the PDP or 6.5% but, Yiaga Africa WTV estimates for Imo State are: APC 5.1% ±2.3%, LP 88.1% ±3.8%, and PDP 5.7% ±2.3%.
