Presidential 2023 Election: “Our web server is not under attack” – INEC discloses

With respect to the 2023 general elections conducted of recent, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has disclosed that its Result Viewing Portal (IReV) was not under attack contrary to speculations flying around. CONTINUE READING

This was made known in a statement released by Mr. Festus Okoye, the Commission’s National Chairman for Information and Voter Education Committee. He however noted that the electoral body was remorseful for any inconvenience experienced by voters, candidates alongside their political parties as a result of issues from their side.

The statement partly reads: ” The problem is totally due to technical hitches related to scaling up the IReV from a platform for managing the nationwide general elections. It is indeed not unusual for glitches to occur and be corrected in such situations.

Consequently, the Commission wishes to assure Nigerians that the IReV is still well secured as the challenges are not due to any intrusion or sabotage of our systems”.
