Controversial Islamic cleric, Ahmad Gumi has slammed the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for allegedly failing to follow proper procedure in the conduct of the just concluded presidential elections.

Media reports that there have been series of protests across the country following the declaration of Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as winner of last Saturday’s poll.

The Labour Party and the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, had vowed to challenge the results, alleging that the electoral body was compromised by the ruling party.

The Vice Presidential candidate of Labour Party, Dr. Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, has assured Nigerians, especially party supporters, that he and his principal, Mr. Peter Obi, were prepared to pursue and retrieve their mandate through the legal system.He appealed to Nigerians to continue to exercise their franchise because democracy belonges to those who could practice it.

Baba-Ahmed, who stated this at a briefing at LP Presidential Campaign Secretariat in his first comment after the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declared Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu as president-elect, in Abuja yesterday, said: “We ask Nigerians to continue to exercise their civic duties. ”Democracy belongs to the people who can practice it. Nigeria should continue to make efforts to practice it. The only language we understand is peace. Obi and I believe even more in Nigeria and Nigerian people.

 

Tinubu: God Has Put Our Critics To Shame, Says Masari.

Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina says God has shamed those who think the North will not deliver the president-elect, Ahmed Bola Tinubu.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) yesterday declared Tinubu winner of last Saturday’s presidential election.

Briefing pressmen after Tinubu was declared winner of the Saturday presidential election.

The governor expressed happiness with the conduct and the turnout of residents of Katsina State and massively voted for the APC at all elective positions, adding that the party won 3 senatorial seats and 9 out of the 15 house of representatives seats in the state.

Believing that Bola Ahmad Tinubu has the capacity and the brain to galvanise resources and propel them to greater heights for the pride of all the blacks, expressing optimism that just like the president-elect has overturned the situation of Lagos to a peaceful and economically ble state, he would do for Nigerians.

 

Aisha Buhari identifies one major thing Tinubu-Shettima Presidency will deliver.

Wife of the President, Aisha Buhari, on Wednesday, identified that the Presidency of President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu and vice president-elect Kashim Shettima will deliver the dreams of Nigeria’s founding fathers.The First Lady stated this in a congratulatory message she personally signed in Abuja.

Recall that Tinubu garnered 8,805,420 votes to defeat his closest contenders, PDP’s Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party’s Peter Obi.It is my conviction that the Tinubu/Shettima Presidency will lead this country into the future that our founding fathers envisioned,” Mrs Buhari said.

Aisha, however, said the success recorded in last Saturday’s election was a result of dexterity, foresight and good intentions of Tinubu to carry all Nigerians along, irrespective of their ethnic and religious background.
