Osoba who made the revelation in an interview he granted on Journalist Hangout, a programme on Television Continental (TVC), posited the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu clearly won the presidential poll, stressing that the election is one of the most peaceful ever conducted in Nigeria.

He added that Nigerians are wiser and would not allow themselves to be instigated or provoked into turning the country on fire while urging the aggrieved candidates to present specific and not random information to back their claims….Continue Reading 

 

Sheikh Gumi loses mother.

Kaduna based Islamic Scholar and cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has announced the dead of his mother which occured on Sunday evening .

It was gathered that his mother died today around 5.30pm and preparations are on top gear to buried her today at Unguwar Sarki Muslim cemetery.

In a statement on his verified Facebook handle the Islamic cleric said , “Inna lillahi WA inna ilaihi rajiun.Today at 5.30pm, with a sad heart, I announce the death of my dear mother.

” Please seek for Her Allah’s forgiveness and mercy.

“Her last words today me two weeks ago: lnsha Allah, Allah will put her and her children and grandchildren together in Jannah.

 

Abia PDP clears air on running mate rumours with NWC.

The Abia State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, has said it is not at loggerhead with its National Working Committee, over who becomes the party’s running mate in the forthcoming election in the state.

Addressing newsmen on Sunday evening in Umuahia, the Abia PDP Vice Chairman and acting State Publicity Secretary, Abraham Amah said it is the responsibility of the NWC to transmit names to INEC and at no time did the chapter sent any names other than the names the NWC sent to INEC.

“In the past, our national office has never imposed anybody on Abia PDP. We are not contending anything with them and in the submission of names, they are the final authority. We have not contended any position they have taken. We stand by our NWC,” he said.

There have been insinuations that all is not well between the party in the state and its NWC who revised its choice of Jasper Uche for Okey Igwe as the running mate of its governorship candidate, Okey Ahiwe.

 

Onyeama calls for inclusion of Nigeria, AU

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, has called for the inclusion of Nigeria and the African Union (AU) in G20.

Onyeama, who made the call in New Delhi, India, while participating in the first foreign ministers’ meeting, under India’s Presidency of G20, also called for the reformation of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank.

In a statement by his media aide, Onyeama said it was an honour and privilege to address the gathering, following an invitation to Nigeria as a guest country of G20 under India’s presidency.

The invitation by India, Onyeama noted, demonstrated the high level of warm relations that exist between Nigeria and India in particular and members of G20 in general.
