European Super League Set for Huge Comeback

Football supporters around the world might see the rebirth or relaunch of the European Super League.

The CEO of the company (A22) backing the Super League, Bernd Reichart released a statement on Wednesday, October 19th, 2022. According to him, the way football is been operated in Europe is causing a lot of clubs to lose money and this can not be sustained in the near future.

He also confirmed in the statement released that only five of the 32 top European clubs recorded profits at the end of the 2019/20 and the 2020/ 2021 season.

European soccer is losing its leading role in world sports, and clubs are lagging behind in terms of their opportunities,” Reichart, who was announced as A22 Sports Management CEO on Tuesday.

All six English clubs ( Tottenham, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea), Inter Milan, AC Milan and Atletico Madrid withdrew but Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus have continued to push the idea.
