Manchester City to honour Kompany, Silva, Aguero with statues

Manchester City are ready to honour club legends David Silva, Sergio Aguero and Vincent Kompany by unveiling statues of the influential players outside the Etihad Stadium.

According to The Mirror, the Citizens will reveal the statues of Kompany and Silva ahead of Arsenal’s visit to Manchester on Saturday, with the artwork being placed outside of the East Stand.

The duo played a huge role in the Citizens’ rise to becoming one of the most powerful and successful teams in Europe.

They were both key figures in Man City’s first title-winning side, and are fondly remembered as modern day legends.

In a bid to honour their heroes for their efforts over the past decade, Man City decided to create a lasting tribute of Silva and Kompany outside the Etihad Stadium, and those statues are ready to be unveiled.

A third statue of Man City’s all-time top scorer Sergio Aguero has also been commissioned, after the Argentine left the Premier League champions at the expiration of his contract in the summer.

The 33-year-old hit 260 goals for the giants over his ten years at the club, writing his name into the club’s and the Premier League’s record books.

The trio has helped Manchester City dominate in England since 2011 clinching five league titles in ten years and an incredible ten domestic cup trophies.
