Akpabio Is The Anointed Of The President While Yari Is The Rebel Leader, Shehu Sani Claims

Shehu Sani, a former candidate for governor of Kaduna State, claimed during an interview with Channels Television News that President Bola Tinubu prefers Senator Goodwill Akpabio over Yari to become the Senate President while discussing the issues surrounding the 10th National Assembly leadership. He claims that one of former President Muhammadu Buhari’s errors in 2015 was not contacting the senator-elect about his choice of Senate President, preferring instead to have Lawal assume the helm without any kind of consultation.

He went on to say that a president has leverage; therefore, there is no way the commander-in-chief will contact the senator-elect and tell them that he needs their support but that 99% of them won’t accept a specific candidate.

Indicating that the president may run into issues if he wanted to state that just one person out of 109 will be faithful to him and the others won’t be. Additionally, he said that because President Tinubu was a former senator, he was involved in the conflicts between Saraki and Lawal in 2015.

As a result, he believed that by this point, the first thing he ought to have done given that his party had the majority was to privately address members like Uzor Kaku and Yari and inform them that Akpabio is his candidate, knowing that they would support him.
