Armed Herders Invade Benue Communities, Killing Three

Communities in Three Benue Local Government Areas Experience Widespread Wailing Following Attacks by Suspected Herdsmen

It was gathered that the herdsmen  stormed communities  in Apa, Kwande and Guma Local Government Areas of Benue State with thousand of cows, and killed  10 persons while  injuring several others.

Some of the  communities which were attacked in the last three days were Ubele, Ochumekwu, Adija, Kano and Ijaha.

Vanguard reports that the National Chairman of Apa Development Association, a socio-cultural group of people, Mr. Eche Akpoko, confirmed the attacks happened.

He said: “I can confirm to you that there were serial of attacks on the following communities: Ijaha-Ibele, where five people were killed; Ochumekwu recorded three casualties; in Adija, one person was killed, same as Kano community, where one person was also killed. These were all in Apa LGA.”
