Pregnant Woman Successfully Gives Birth at Onipanu Bus Stop on Ikorodu Road, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, Sparking Jubilation

She gave birth to a baby boy at the bus stop on Monday.

Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyintolu told PM NEWS that at approximately 9.00am on Monday, the Agency’s Emergency Response Team received a distress call from neighborhood and by-standers at Onipanu bus stop in respect of an heavily pregnant woman who unexpectedly went into labour at the bus stop while waiting to board a bus.

LRT and the agency’s paramedics moved in swiftly in collaboration with some market women at the bus stop, provided a temporary makeshift in ensuring the safe delivery of the baby and the well-being of the mother.

Fortunately, the woman was successfully delivered of a bouncing baby boy amidst jubilation,” he said.

Oke-Osanyintolu added that the agency’s officials after stabilising the mother and newborn infant quickly transported them to nearest hospital for further medical care and attention.
