Senator Orji Uzor-Kalu’s emotional outburst during his speech was a clear indication of his disappointment with the political climate in Nigeria. He expressed his frustration with those he had helped, and he also expressed his gratitude to his supporters. The Senator’s speech was an emotional one, and it was evident that he felt deeply about the situation.

The Senator expressed his disappointment in those he helped, stating that people he gave transport money from his house in Victoria Island became agents. He further expressed his frustration with the political climate in Nigeria, stating that this is what Nigeria represents. 

He said: “I have never lacked, while I was in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) where I served for two terms as governor, I brought the money that they used in forming that party, every penny, in 1997 and 1998, and I later became a thief.

Uzor-Kalu, as reported by Vanguard Newspaper, was seen weeping while trying to narrate how he has been treated politically by those he helped while in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and those he spent his money to nurture. The Senator reportedly started weeping at 1:19 pm during his speech, indicating that he could buy anything money could buy before he came into politics.

He further stated:

“People I gave transport money from my house in Victoria Island became agents. This is what Nigeria represents. Thank you for giving me these four years of uninterrupted support. This country is not fair.”

Senator Uzor-Kalu’s weeping was a clear indication of his emotional state, and it was evident that he felt betrayed by those he had helped.
