The Presidential Election Petition Court has accepted the data analysis of the February 25 presidential election results and their appendices as evidence. The court has also accepted the blurred results from 18,088 polling units from the Independent National Electoral Commission’s results viewing portal as evidence.

They are disputing the election’s outcome, in which Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress was declared the elected president by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

On Thursday, during the resumed hearing, the petitioners’ counsel, Onyechi Ikpeazu (SAN), represented the LP and Obi. The evidence presented by the LP and Obi is crucial to their case, as it challenges the legitimacy of the election results declared by INEC.

At the start of the session, the Senior Advocate notified the court of his plan to bring in Professor Eric Ofoedu, an expert in Mathematics, to testify in the case.

The court also accepted the letter sent to Professor Ofoedu requesting his expertise and the subpoena served on him to appear in court as evidence. 

However, the respondents in the case, which include the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Bola Tinubu, his vice-president Kashim Shettima, and the All Progressives Congress (APC), raised objections to the admissibility of these documents. 

Specifically, the counsel for the APC, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), objected to the admissibility of the subpoena served on the witness. 

The objections raised by the respondents regarding the admissibility of the documents will need to be addressed by the court.
