BREAKING: Do not start a riot when the election results are announced – Buhari

Every state in Nigeria, as well as the capital Abuja, will have presidential and National Assembly elections on February 25. The state house of representatives and the governor will be chosen on March 11.

Buhari warned the candidates against using violence in a statement and advised them to either accept the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) election results or contest them in court.

When the election results were announced, Buhari issued a warning against riots and other acts of violence. Regardless of whether they are institutional or personal, all complaints should be filed with the appropriate authorities.

She urged the candidates running for office at all levels to respect the decisions made by voters and accept the results as announced by INEC, the legitimate body with the authority to do so.

According to Buhari, who was elected president for the second time in 2015 and 2019, when he leaves office on May 29, 2023, he hopes to leave behind a legacy of free, fair, credible, and transparent elections.

The president claims that the off-cycle elections in the states of Edo, Ondo, Anambra, Ekiti, and Osun allowed him to leave the legacy he had hoped for.

We allowed Nigerians to choose their own government. This administration is devoted to preserving this tradition.

We will maintain our impartiality and let the rule of law prevail over political expediency.”

Buhari asserted that he had instructed INEC, the security forces, and all other necessary institutions to conduct the polls bravely, firmly, and in accordance with the law and the constitution.

Buhari said, “You may be assured of the loyal backing of this administration.” The voting process must be improved over time while making the most of technology’s advantages to protect the integrity of our elections.
