BREAKING: INEC Reveals Why Collation Officer in River State For Presidential Election is Replaced

Due to continuous death threats against her, Professor Omiete Briggs, who served as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Collation Officer for Port Harcourt City local government area during the February 25 Presidential and National Assembly elections in Rivers State, has been replaced.

Dr. Amoniya Briggs, the husband of Professor Briggs, reported that his wife has been subjected to death threats from certain individuals due to her refusal to tamper with or compromise the results of the February 25 Presidential and National Assembly elections in Port Harcourt local government.

Despite being scheduled to continue as the Collation Officer for Port Harcourt City local government during the March 11 Governorship and House of Assembly elections, INEC asked her to cease for the sake of her safety.

In a press conference held in Port Harcourt, Rivers state on March 6, Dr. Lulu-Briggs expressed concern that his wife had received numerous death threats in relation to her INEC assignment
