Former Kaduna state governor, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, has secured local government for People’s Democratic Party presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar in Saturday’s presidential election.

Makarfi LGA election overseer Professor Mariam Aminu said while announcing the results Monday at his INEC headquarters along Kinshasa Road in Kaduna that the council has 118,150 registered voters, of which he has 43,888. said it was accredited for Saturday’s election.

She added that 42,046 votes were valid and 824 of her 42,870 votes were rejected. Mr. Makarfi is a former chairman of the PDP’s Board of Caretakers and a former senator to Congress, representing the northern Senate constituency for two years.

 

The outcomes are as follows: 

Presidential

APC – 13,767

PDP – 22,098

LP – 759

Registered voters – 118,150

Accredited voters – 43,888

Valid votes – 42,046

Rejected Votes- 824

Total votes cast – 42,870
