Cote d'Ivoire Legend Kolo Toure Identifies Nigeria's Biggest Threat Ahead of AFCON 2023 Finals

Cote d’Ivoire Legend Kolo Toure Identifies Potential Threat Ahead of AFCON 2023 Finals Scheduled for Sunday, February 11, 2024

Kolo Toure, the legendary footballer from the Ivory Coast and Arsenal, has showered praise upon Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen ahead of the much-awaited 2023 AFCON final. Despite having scored only one goal in Cote d’Ivoire, the 25-year-old has been a constant menace to opposing defenders throughout the tournament, thanks to his exceptional pace, strength, and ball control.

Toure, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest African defenders of all time, has paid tribute to Osimhen’s impressive skills, highlighting his ability to create space, make runs, and finish with clinical precision indicating that the Napoli forward will be a huge threat to Ivory Coast in the finals of AFCON 2023 a role he had initially played when the two sides met in the group stage of the competition.

He said, “Osimhen is a super powerful player, he’s got unbelievable speed. He has scored only one goal so far but what he brings to that team is incredible. As soon as Nigeria has the ball they will look for Osimhen in the space because he is super quick. They need to be really ready for the ball, and just anticipate that and run behind as fast as they can.”
