Late Strike by McTominay Secures Victory for Manchester United Against Aston Villa

On Sunday, Scott McTominay’s late goal propelled Manchester United to a 2-1 victory over Aston Villa, enhancing their prospects for a top-four finish.

United had opened the scoring in the 17th minute of the game. A corner was taken and Harry Maguire flicked on with his head to Rasmus Hojlund, who made no mistake and fired the ball into the back of the net to give the visitors a 0-1 lead.

In the 24th minute, John McGinn produced a ferocious strike from the edge of the box. His dangerous effort towards the roof of the net was blocked by Andre Onana, who pulled off a superb save to keep the ball out of the net.

A minute later, Ollie Watkins received a great pass inside the box and missed a golden chance. The goalkeeper pulled off a stunning save.

In the 67th minute, Clement Lenglet missed a big chance from point-blank range as he struck the ball towards the middle of the goal. His promising effort following the corner kick was, to his disappointment, thwarted by Onana with a fabulous save.

Villa equalised that same minute. Douglas Luiz received the ball inside the box, reacted quickly and without any problem stabbed the ball into the top right corner to make it 1-1.

In the 77th minute, Luiz failed to turn the rebound in as the goalkeeper pulled off a great save to keep him out.
