Paul Pogba's Wife Speaks Out Amid His 4-Year Football Ban for Doping

Following the announcement of Paul Pogba receiving a 4-year football ban after being found guilty of violating anti-doping rules, the football star’s wife has taken to social media to show her support.

In August 2023, French footballer Paul Pogba was found to have tested positive for DHEA, a banned substance that naturally boosts testosterone production. As a result, he was handed a provisional ban the following month.

The suspension period for Pogba began on 11 September 2023, which is when he was provisionally banned pending investigation, and it will run until 10 September 2027. This means that Pogba, who is currently 30 years old, will not be allowed to return to football until he is 34.

His statement on social media read, “I have today been informed of the Tribunale Nazionale Antidoping’s decision and believe that the verdict is incorrect. I am sad, shocked and heartbroken that everything I have built in my professional playing career has been taken away from me. When I am free of legal restrictions the full story will become clear, but I have never knowingly or deliberately taken any supplements that violate anti-doping regulations. As a professional athlete I would never do anything to enhance my performance by using banned substances and have never disrespected or cheated fellow athletes and supporters of any of the teams I have played for, or against. As a consequence of the decision announced today I will appeal this before the Court of Arbitration for Sport.”

Meanwhile, his wife, Zulay, has expressed her support for him on social media, stating that “the truth will always prevail my king, stay strong as you always have been.”

So far, Juventus, the club that Pogba plays for, has not commented on the situation. However, there are reports suggesting that they may terminate his contract due to the ban. The situation has caused a stir among football fans and has raised questions about doping in sports.
