Apostle Chibuzor Breaks Silence After He Was Dragged For Abandoning Late Deborah’s Family

Arguments erupted across social media following an exclusive interview granted by the parents of the Late Deborah Emmanuel with journalists from the Foundation For Investigative Journalism. The parents of Deborah alleged in the interview that things have been difficult for them ever since they were moved from Niger State to Port Harcourt by Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere. According to the Foundation For Investigative Journalism, Deborah’s father stated that the car provided for him by Apostle Chibuzor was a fairly used car and he couldn’t use it to run his business because the vehicle was faulty.

The mother also stated that she couldn’t run the restaurant Apostle Chibuzor gave her as she only knows how to prepare meals familiar to people in Niger State. She went on to reveal that the restaurant is no longer moving as they barely get any customers to patronize her.

The family further revealed that they haven’t been living in the estate Apostle Chibuzor promised them but in an apartment he rented for them and he only paid for one year so the landlord is disturbing them. The family also revealed that things have been very difficult for them as they no longer have a suitable means of income and people from the church don’t check on them or visit them. The interview generated lots of controversies and mixed reactions across social media as some call out the pastor for neglecting the family to suffer in Port Harcourt.

However, Apostle Chibuzor addressed the controversies in a recent worship service as he calls the parents of Deborah to testify on what was said during the interview. Apostle Chibuzor stated that all that was said by Deborah’s parents were twisted to paint his ministry in a bad light.

He stated that the reason he rented an apartment for Deborah’s family was because the estate wasn’t fully ready and it won’t be safe to keep only the family living in the estate. He also stated that the money generated from the estate goes to Deborah’s family and not to him.

He said, “Let’s get it right, when I relocated them from Niger State to Port Harcourt, the estate is not yet ready so I need to put them somewhere so that before that place will expire they would relocate to the estate so that was why I rented a place for them while we were repairing the estate.”

“So now that they finished repairing the estate and some tenants are already staying in the estate and the place where I rented has expired, they’ll be moving to the estate because it’s their estate and I’ve signed already…

“OPM have 18 estates and people are living free of charge, why is it that the one I gave to this family I’ll go and be collecting rent, what would I use the rent to do.”

Deborah’s father, Mr Emmanuel Garba confirmed Apostle Chibuzor’s statement by revealing in front of the congregation that Apostle Chibuzor hasn’t collected any money from them.

“Apostle Chibuzor haven’t collected any money from us, I’m the one taking the money for rent”, he said.

Apostle Chibuzor further stated in front of the congregation that the car given to Deborah’s dad became faulty because he only knows how to drive manual and not automatic. He said that Deborah’s dad kept using the two pedals simultaneously which was why it became faulty.

He further revealed that the reason why he couldn’t send Deborah’s older siblings to Europe for scholarship was because of the rise in dollars. According to him, the money used for sponsoring a student in Europe can go for about a hundred student in Nigeria.
