Atiku claimed that, unlike the President-elect and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, he is unencumbered by scandals of any kind.

The former Vice President claimed his identity, comprising age, state of origin and educational qualifications has never been in dispute like Tinubu’s.

Atiku argued that Tinubu was constitutionally disabled from contesting election for the office of President.

The PDP candidate said these in his reply to Tinubu’s response to the petition he jointly filed with his party before the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC).

Protest Over Killing Of 6 In Plateau

Tension has gripped Farin Lamba community in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State, following the reported killing of six youths by suspected on Tuesday night at a mining site.

The Nation reports that six youths were brutally killed at a mining site in Farin Lamba by yet-to-be-identified gunmen. Natives are blaming suspected herdsmen for the attack.

Protesting women blocked the Farin Lamba- Abuja road as early as 8:00 am, stopping motorists from entering and exiting Jos despite the presence of security operatives.

The protesting women said: “We don’t need security men here. Anytime such killings happened and they are called upon, they would not respond swiftly until the gunmen have finished carrying out their operations before seeing them; we are tired of this type of deceit.” Continue Reading…

Ganduje In Shock Over Ex-Minister, BUK Registrar’s Deaths

Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has expressed shock over the death of ex-minister Musa Gwadabe, saying Nigeria has lost one of its principled politicians committed to the plight of the downtrodden.

Gwadabe, a former Minister of Labour and Productivity died on Wednesday in Kano at the age of 86.

In a condolence message through his Chief Press Secretary, Abba Anwar, the governor said until his death, Gwadabe was held in high esteem by the people.

“The death of Malam Musa Gwadabe, an elder statesman, a pioneer member of Peoples Democratic Party and a frontline politician in the country, leaves a great vacuum in Nigeria’s political development.

“Gwadabe is one of the principled politicians the nation is proud of.

Tinubu, Shettima Relocate To Defence House

President-elect Bola Tinubu and Vice-President-elect Kashim Shettima have moved to the Defence Guest House in the Maitama District of Abuja.

Tinubu will reside at the Defence Guest House until he is sworn in as President on May 29, 2023.

This is not a new development. The current President, Muhammadu Buhari also lodged at the same location months before his inauguration on May 29, 2015. Continue Reading…
