Several days after the conclusion of the 2023 presidential election, Dino Melaye has continued to challenge and criticize the electoral process.

Speaking recently during an interview with correspondents of Punch, Melaye argued that INEC broke its own law regarding the transmission of results from polling unit and when he confronted Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, he couldn’t defend it.

He said: “It was INEC that actually broke the law. The law in section 60, Section 64(4), section 65(1) of the Electoral Act 2022 as amended is clear.

The chairman of INEC assured Nigerians that elections will be held, results will be transmitted from polling units to the server and that is why electronic transmission of results was inserted in our law, but they did not do that, and I confronted him physically with this, and he had no answers.

At the end of the day, the umpire has broken the law, so the product of a failed process can never be legitimate, neither can it be acceptable. We are not even interested in who wins or does not win, we are saying we have a problem with the process.”…..Continue Reading
