Mauricio Pochettino Reveals Players Set to Miss Crystal Palace vs Chelsea Fixture Due to Injury During Pre-Match Press Conference

The Chelsea head coach confirmed that the team would indeed be missing a player who featured in the FA Cup victory over Aston Villa during the week. Pochettino also addressed the possibility of other players returning from injury and featuring in the Premier League fixture Crystal Palace vs Chelsea which will be played on Monday, February 12, 2024.

 Benoit Badiashile’s injury update

Pochettino in his pre-match press conference confirmed that Benoit Badiashile might not be available for Chelsea ahead of their game against Crystal Palace following the knock he picked up in the FA Cup second-leg playoff against Aston Villa at Villa Park.

He stated that Benoit would still be tested before the game but for now, he can neither confirm nor deny his match fitness status.

Pochettino stated, “Benoit, we need to assess him, still we need to wait for the scan. It’s his groin. I hope it’s not a big issue, but this afternoon we will know better.”

He also revealed that Chelsea might also receive a huge player boost ahead of the fixture as Levi Colwill and Trevoh Chalobah have resumed training with the team full-time. He however stated that these players will have to undergo a match fitness test to see if they will be fit enough for the Monday fixture.
