The Super Eagles of Nigeria might miss one of their regular players, Zaidu Sanusi, when they confront South Africa in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.

The reports coming from Cote d’Ivoire state that the defender might not be available for the match after he picked up an injury in training. Zaidu has been criticised by most Nigerians due to his performance in the games he has played so far in the competition.

However, it is yet to be confirmed if he will be available for selection when the head coach, Jose Peseiro releases the team list an hour before the game kicks off. Bruno Onyemeachi and Calvin Bassey are expected to be a possible replacement for the left-back.

Recall that there were initial reports that Victor Osimhen was not fit for the game as he failed to travel with the rest of the squad. Nonetheless, the Napoli forward player has been cleared fit by the team doctor before that game.
